Coathanger and Double cluster - 31th July

I figured that star clusters wouldn't be too washed out by last night's full moon (compared with nebulae/galaxies) so imaged two before the clouds appeared at 1am.

Mars and the Pleiades - 30th July

I saw this pair a few nights ago after packing everything up, and thought I just had to get a photo of them next time the weather was clear. So at 3:30, after finishing with my main subject last night (NGC7000 in h-a) I pointed the camera at these two beautiful jewels in the sky just a few degrees apart, slowly rising over the garage:

NGC7000 with new camera lens - 19th July

Well I tell a lie, the lens is probably about 20 years old... and I bought it several years ago with some other camera bits in a box for about £20 in a charity shop. It's a Sigma 35-200mm zoom lens, and looked good quality, but didn't have the same mount as any of my cameras. It only struck me a week ago to look for an adaptor to use it with my Canon 350D - which I did. So now I've bridged the focal length gap between the 18-55mm kit lens, and 750mm scope.
Wanting to try it out on something closer to space than butterflies, and the fact there hadn't been a decent clear night I'd been able to go out since filter modding the 350D, I went out to search for some hydrogen-alpha... and found North America:
